Meet Our Coaches


Coach Keegan Freid
Born and raised in Peoria Arizona, Coach Freid grew up with a large family of nine. Being the second eldest son, Keegan has been familiar with leadership from a very young age. From backyard pickup games to tabletop homework help Keegan has been able to encourage the multiple personalities of his younger siblings. The Freid Home has an open door policy and Keegan has been a large welcoming force within the home.  
Coach Freid played High School football, basketball, and track and field. He was also involved in student government all four years of high school. During his high school football career at Sunrise Mountain High School in Peoria, Arizona, coach Freid started on the varsity team his junior and senior year where he also held the responsibility of being team captain. In his two years starting, coach Freid had a 60% completion percentage, 5,632 passing yards, and 76 passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 2,038 yards, and 25 touchdowns. Coach Freid continued his football career a few years longer playing division 1 football in the Mountain West Conference for the Air Force Academy as a wide receiver for the Falcons.
Keegan Freid is an honest and charismatic individual who presents himself with respect and enthusiasm. He acknowledges others and their emotions with consideration and never allows one to feel left out by invoking positive energy and encouragement to those in need of it. Coach Freid is devoted to his work and implements substantial time and effort into his mental and physical well being in order to be the best version of himself for his clients. He acknowledges his mistakes and enforces constructive criticism in areas he continues to grow. His welcoming personality brings comfort and trust in the relationships made with him. Coach Freid enlightens those around him and strives to positively impact others.

Coach Keegan Freid

Coach Alex Gianoli
Coach Alex has been around the game of football his whole life. Playing for over 13 years, all the way up to Division-1 ball at the University of Nevada Reno, shortly after his time at Reno Alex suffered an injury that would cause him to hang up the cleats for good. Although Alex, has been faced to deal with setback after setback, he has persevered and used every opportunity, good or bad, as an opportunity to learn. Alex has acquired a wide knowledge and passion for the game due to his 15+ years around the game and passion to become the best. When it was time to hang up the cleats Alex realized that he wanted to use his skills to help the youth have a better understanding of the game and what it takes to get to the next level.

Coach Alex Gianoli

Coach Ian Martell
Coach Ian Martell has been in the game of soccer almost all his life, playing since he was very young and coaching since he was a senior in high school. From kicking around at the park to playing semi professional in Arizona and even some time in Spain, Ian is no stranger to the challenges and sacrifices it takes to play at a very high level. Ian has been professionally coaching at the club level both as both a head coach and assistant coach, working with almost every age group available. 
For his four years of high school at Glendale Preparatory Academy, Ian played on the varsity team helping them reach the semifinals of the playoffs in his freshman year. He averaged three goals a game as a right winger his freshman year and became captain of the team in his senior year. During his years of youth club soccer, Ian played at the highest level in the state. He started as a center back for his team who were fourth in the state. After graduating high school in 2019, Ian pursued soccer further with Proyecto jdb, playing with professional teams in Galicia, Spain. In 2022, Ian signed with Sporting Arizona and became a starting center back and right back for the team. 
Coach Ian is respected and loved by the players and parents he works with. He understands the game well but is always learning both as a coach and a player. Ian loves to have fun but when it's time to get serious, he locks in. Coach Ian always strives to be a great leader and mentor to the players he coaches. He prioritizes development and cares about the human being behind the athlete.

Coach Ian Martell

Coach Zach Pells
Zack Pells is an Arizona native, growing up in the west valley. At a young age Zack was very interested in sports and started playing playing football at 4 years old. Zack also played many other sports growing up including Motor-cross, baseball, basketball, golf, and soccer. During and after High School, Coach Pells officiated Youth Tackle Football and 7on7 Tournaments all across Arizona, Nevada, and California. Then for the 2022/2023 Football Season Zack became a Certified Official through the Arizona Interscholastic Association (A.I.A) and completed his first High School Football season. He also spend a year coaching JV Wide Receivers at Mountain Ridge HS. He joined his father and a staff of coaches he’s had in youth football growing up. 

Coach Zach Pells

Coach Angel Ruiz
He is a former Arizona State WR that has also played JUCO football and is currently finishing his college career at Ottawa University. In high school, Coach Angel was awarded 1st Team All-Region, Conference, and State. While also holding the AZ Record for “Most Receiving Touchdowns in a Single Season” (24TDs) and the Sunrise Mountain HS record for “Most Yards in a Season”. (1579 yds). He then became a “JUCO All-American WR” in the year 2020. What Coach Angel brings to “Freidom Academy” is a wide knowledge of football, his passion to be great, and his contagious energy. He is extremely excited to give back to his community and to coach the next generation of players on and off the field. 

Coach Angel Ruiz

Coach Hillary Hoffpauir
Hillary is 26 years old and was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She played volleyball at Centennial High School in Peoria where she was the varsity setter for three years. Hillary was Honorable Mention All State Division I her sophomore year in 2013; First Team All District and Second Team All State Division I in 2014; First Team All State Division I, First Team All District, and District Player of the Year, in 2015. After graduating with a 4.0GPA with honors, she moved on in her volleyball career to play Division II volleyball at Lee University in Tennessee, where she was the starting setter and earned the NCAA Division II Excellence Award. She finished her collegiate career at Glendale Community College in Arizona under NCAA Hall of Fame, Coach Lisa Stuck. 
Hillary has coached club and high school level sports. She was the Junior Varsity Girl’s Volleyball head coach at Valley Vista High school in Surprise, Arizona for 2 years, as well as the assistant Varsity Girls Volleyball coach at Joy Christian for 1 year. She has years of leadership skills under her belt and strives to pour the love of God, sports, education, and building strong healthy relationships into her players.
